About this role
DeGroat Industrial Group is a family run lumber company founded in 2007 and based on Route 35 in Middletown, NJ. We sell industrial and wholesale lumber, plywood and building materials, plus pallets, remanufactured lumber and wooden packaging and crating (including military and government crates), and we run reload and manufacturing facilities in New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania. Our Lumber Trades platform gives contractors, wholesalers and building supply retailers mill direct pricing with full distribution, JIT shipments and job site delivery. We are hiring Warehouse / Yard Associates to keep material moving.
What you will do:
- Unload inbound lumber, plywood and panels and stage them for reload, remanufacturing or delivery
- Build, band and wrap units and pallets to order; help assemble crates and packaging
- Pick and load outbound orders for JIT shipments and job site deliveries
- Operate a forklift once trained and certified; keep the yard and warehouse safe and organized
- Count and tally material and flag damage or shortages
What we look for:
- Comfortable with physical, outdoor work in all seasons and able to lift and carry lumber safely
- Forklift or lumber yard experience is a plus, not required; we train
- Reliable, on time and safety minded
- A valid driver license and dependable transportation
- Basic math for counts and tallies; able to read a pick ticket
Schedules and pay: Full time, weekday daytime hours. Pay is discussed at interview.
