This is a great opportunity for an accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and wants to build a career within the student housing and real estate industry.In this role, you will assist with the accounting execution for assigned student housing properties, prepare accurate and timely financial statements, and support property-level financial operations. The ideal candidate is coachable, analytical, organized, and excited to contribute to a company that is actively growing within top university markets across the country.University Partners owns and operates student housing communities located in some of the nation’s leading university markets. As a vertically integrated student housing owner/operator backed by a global investment partner, we are positioned for continued growth and long-term success in the student housing space.Key Responsibilities• Perform full-cycle accounting, including full accounts payable processing, journal entries, monthly accruals/amortizations, and Balance Sheet reconciliations.

• Responsible for multiple student housing properties within Company portfolio.

• Respond to Property Managers’ questions regarding monthly charges, invoice coding, and month-end reporting.

• Assist with preparation of annual budget.

• Review monthly charges, Gross Potential Rent report, and other AR balances.

• Calculate monthly property management fees and process payments.

• Prepare month-end reporting packages and review and analyze budget-to-actual variances.

• Prepare annual work papers and reconciliations for year-end tax returns and external audit.

• Assist Property Accounting Manager and Vice President with cash flow analyses.Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

• 1+ years of prior Real Estate property-level accrual basis accounting

• Student housing or multifamily property accounting experience preferred

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel application

• Experience with Entrata, MRI, and/or Yardi accounting software preferred

• Candidate needs to be coachable, enthusiastic, creative, flexible, display strong technical aptitude, detail oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skillsWhat We Offer• Growth-focused working environment.
