The University depends upon UEC to provide services that cannot be supported with state funds. We're responsible for business enterprises on campus including, but not limited to, dining, bookstore, convenience store, and vending services. We also serve as the grantee for federal, state, and local funding for research and sponsored projects.Position SummaryTemporary, Staff, Non-Exempt, Full Time, Benefited position through 6/30/2026 (Appointment may be renewed annually based upon availability of funds, availability of work and satisfactory job performance).Salary: $3,700.00-$4,600.00 per month.Location: CSRI Moreno Valley Center.Work Schedule40 hours per week. Typically, 8:45am-5:15pm, Monday-Friday with some evenings and Saturdays required.First Review DeadlineThis position will remain open until filled.Typical ActivitiesUnder minimal supervision of the Center Manager, the Job Developer will work independently to:
Employer Outreach & Job Development:• Identify and develop job opportunities for program participants by establishing relationships with employers across various industries.
• Conduct outreach to businesses, organizations, and government agencies to promote hiring individuals with reentry backgrounds.
• Maintain a database of employer contacts and track job openings, placements, and hiring trends.
• Advocate for clients by educating employers on the benefits of hiring individuals with justice-involved backgrounds.
• Organize job fairs, hiring events, and employer networking opportunities.Client Support & Job Readiness:• Assist clients in developing resumes, cover letters, and job applications tailored to their skills and experiences.
• Provide one-on-one coaching for interview preparation, workplace etiquette, and professional communication.
• Conduct workshops on job search strategies, workplace expectations, and career advancement.
• Support clients in overcoming employment barriers such as gaps in work history, legal restrictions, or lack of experience.Program Coordination & Compliance:• Work closely with case managers and other CSRI staff to align job placement efforts with clients' needs and parole requirements.
• Track client employment progress, maintain detailed records, and prepare reports on job placements and retention rates.
• Ensure compliance with program guidelines, grant requirements, and contractual obligations.
• Stay informed about labor market trends, workforce development policies, and employer hiring needs.Community Engagement & Partnerships:• Collaborate with workforce development agencies, vocational training programs, and community organizations to expand job opportunities.
• Develop and maintain partnerships with businesses willing to provide secondchance employment.
• Represent CSRI at community events, business forums, and industry networking meetings to promote program initiatives.Some regional travel required.Minimum Qualifications• Education:• Bachelor's degree in Business, Social Services, Workforce Development, or a related field (or equivalent experience).Experience:• Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in job development, employment services, workforce development, or a related area.Other:• Knowledge of local labor market trends and workforce development programs.
• Experience working with justice-involved individuals or underserved populations.
• Strong understanding of employment barriers faced by justice-involved individuals and strategies to support reentry success.
• Excellent networking, relationship-building, and communication skills.
• Ability to market program participants to employers and negotiate job placements.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and database management systems.Special Requirements:• A UEC and CDCR background check (including a criminal records check) must be completed satisfactorily before any candidate's offer can be finalized for this position.
• Live Scan Fingerprinting and TB testing is required for all employees.Preferred Qualifications• Familiarity with California Department of Corrections and Rehabilitation (CDCR) reentry programs.
• Bilingual proficiency is a plus.
