About the Role:The Field Technician I will be responsible for managing and maintaining a territory, performing on-site or in-house installation, integration, servicing and/or troubleshooting network equipment and fiber optic plant within the Unit footprint. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skills and/or abilities required. This position is important to the overall effective operations of the organization and contributes to the overall achievement of the organization's established quality objectives. The incumbent will follow any other instructions and perform any other related duties as may be required by the supervisor.


What You'll Do:+ Install different types of network gear at cellular sites, Central Offices, Carrier POPs, Enterprise facilities, military bases, schools and more+ Troubleshoot and solve issues in a timely matter+ Log into switches and take instructions from the NOC or engineer in charge+ Will need to work on call through the weekends and after regular duty hours+ Install electrical conductor, data conductor, and fiber optic cable+ Install pull boxes, conduit, poles and foundations+ Assist with the testing of devices to ensure functionality+ Perform other duties as assigned


Do You Have?+ A high school diploma or GED+ Knowledge of fiber optic splicing and understanding of how to handle, clean, and troubleshoot optical fibers and connectors+ Basic knowledge of AC and DC voltage+ Ability to work with +24 and -48 power+ Capability of working independently and being on call for any issues/work in your remote area+ Dedication to working with the mind set of "safety first"+ A valid driver's license and a clean driving record+ Ability to work weekends as well as a part of on call rotations in addition to traveling overnight, which can sometimes be extended due to the job or work environment (i.e., carrier projects and storm restoration)+ Ability to maintain a neat/clean and professional appearance that reflects well on the company and clients+ All around good attitude and aptitude to learn and grow


Even Better:+ Technical degree or equivalent experience+ Ability to travel and move where needed is desirable+ Related work experience is a plus


Working Conditions:+ Ability to perform multiple tasks and handle a large volume of work in a stressful and fast-paced environment while maintaining a positive and pleasant attitude with others+ Capable of traveling up to 20% of the time, as well as working flexible hours including evenings, holidays, and weekends
