• Minimum Education: Associate Degree in Nursing; Bachelor's Degree in Nursing preferred

• Continuing Education: 30 hours every two years, with 16 hours specific to the area of practice

• Minimum Experience: Specific experience may be required depending on the work area

• Preferred Certification: National certification in PICU nursing is preferredLicensure:

• Current Registered Nurse license in the State of Alaska

• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required

• Additional certifications as required for specific work areas (e.g., PALS, ACLS); must be obtained within six months of hire for new employeesCertifications:

• Current BLS certification required

• Additional certifications as required for the specific work area (e.g., PALS, ACLS)Responsibilities:

• Evaluate nursing practices against professional standards and regulations, setting short- and long-term professional goals.

• Deliver timely and effective nursing care based on established standards.

• Perform nursing assessments, interventions, and evaluations.

• Collaborate with patients, families, and healthcare providers to develop care plans.

• Utilize evidence-based practices while considering safety, effectiveness, and cost in patient care delivery.

• Operate advanced life-support equipment such as ventilators and cardiac monitors.

• Provide emotional support and education to families regarding patient conditions and care plans.
