Job Description
Job Summary :Provide electrical & instrumentation & controls design and drafting services to Teledyne Brown Engineering Inc. Huntsville AL, 35805.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. (NOTE: If candidate does not have experience with certain aspects of essential duties such as PLC Programming w/ a certain type SW please apply. Multiple positions may be available.)+ Performs engineering, design and analysis related to the design, development, and implementation of instrumentation and control and electrical systems and equipment used with and to support process, mechanical and electrical hardware systems and equipment.+ Prepare cable design drawings to include schematics. physical layouts, BOMs, assembly notes and views and projections.+ Prepare designs for manufacture, installation, and test.+ Prepare electrical and instrumentation and controls (I&C) drawings.+ Must be able to manage and schedule assigned work in support of multiple projects. and work in a collaborative multidiscipline engineering environment.+ PLC Programming using Rockwell Automation RSLOGIX/Studio 5000. Siemens SIMATIC Step 7 is a plus+ HMI Development using Rockwell Automation RSLOGIX/Studio 5000+ Prepare design and procurement specification, design basis documents, system description documents, white papers, trade studies and presentations. This requires strong technical writing and communication skills.+ Analyzes equipment to establish operating data, conducts experimental tests and evaluates results+ Operate computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform engineering tasks. May include AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Visio, MATLAB.+ Prepares and studies technical drawings, specifications of instrumentation and controls and electrical systems, to ensure conformity to standards and customer requirements+ Generates architecture for functional components and assists with product architecture+ Delivers hardware designs through prototype, beta, and production release in compliance with product development process and quality practices+ Participates in technical design reviews of existing designs and peer reviews+ Compile data and write reports regarding existing and potential engineering studies and projects+ Awareness and understanding of advanced technology and its applicability to company products+ Briefs others on deliverables, status and progress+ Daily availability to include evenings and weekends when necessary to reach goals and deadlines.

Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.+ Proficient with CAD design tools such as SMAP 3D electrical, AutoCAD Electrical or other electrical related drawing packages essential for creating detailed electrical plans, drawings and design products.+ Proficient developing detailed schematics (e.g. wiring diagrams, functional control logic diagrams (FCLDs etc.) for electrical power and industrial control systems.+ Must have a strong understanding of electrical systems, components, and design principles+ Experience designing Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) systems or systems utilizing PLCs a strong plus.+ Experience working on projects supporting the nuclear industry or other industries w/ strict QA program such as NQA-1 a strong plus+ Familiarity to ANSI Y14.100 and related drawing standards.+ Familiarity with International Electronics Commission (IEC) standards 61082 and 60617.+ Working Knowledge of National Electrical Code (NEC) standards.+ Familiarity with National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA) standards+ Familiarity of control panel design, both 2D and 3D, Working knowledge of UL-508A a strong plus.+ Must be able to manage and schedule assigned work in support of multiple projects. and work in a collaborative multidiscipline engineering environment.+ Ability to identify issues and develop effective solutions during the design and implementation phases+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with all team members within the Mechanical, Electrical and Process Disciplines.+ Preferred Experience with Product Data Management (PDM) systems
Education and/or Experience+ Preferred associate's degree in Drafting and Design and/or equivalent electrical design experience. BS in Engineering or related field is a bonus+ 5+ years of relevant experience in Industrial automation and/or industrial controls
Other Skills and Abilities+ Basic Knowledge of ISO and/or AS9100+ Working knowledge of Lean Manufacturing/6 Sigma/Kaizen+ Knowledge of specific software (design, analysis, ERP...)
