The Director of Web Technologies is focused on helping to set and implement the strategy for the Stanford Health Care's various Web properties which will include: Management responsibility for all aspects of Web technology within SHC; Managing the Web development team within SHC; Managing relationships with external and/or outsourced providers of services related to the SHC's Web presence; Partnering with business development to help the organization establish/maintain Web and online strategies which support core business objectives; Designing and implementing infrastructure and architecture for technologies supporting the Web and portal presences, including applications, development platforms, content management systems, directories, web services and APIs, databases, etc. This position provides technical leadership, coaching, and vision to a team including, as needed, Web Architects, Web Developers, Web System Administrators, Integration Engineers, Project Managers, and QA/Tester Analysts; Standardizing the development environment and process.Locations
Stanford Health CareWhat you will do• Develops approaches for application configuration, testing, training and manages these processes for implementations, upgrades, and other system changes.
• Oversees relationship with external and/or outsourced providers of software/services related to Web presence and Web portals.
• Plans, recruits, and effectively manages, coaches, develops, and motivates the Web development team.
• Mentors and develops team members' technical and non-technical skills.
• Conducts performance reviews of Web team, drives career development and training plans, and performs appropriate administrative tasks.
• Defines and ensures conformance to architectural guidelines, platforms, and development standards.
• Ensures that highly reliable, available, and responsive technologies support high performance and growth in operations, business development, and customer and partner relationships.
• Is responsible for the creation and deployment of the Web technology strategy, including platforms, frameworks, application, integration, performance, and working collaboratively on user experience with marketing.
• Is responsible for the Web systems/software currently in use, enhancing the functionality of existing systems, integrating new and existing applications to streamline business processes, and developing easy to use user interfaces and integration with new and existing applications.
• Partners with Executive Director of Marketing and Communications, the Director of Marketing Technology and Communication, and other key leaders to enable business development and operational goals.
• Oversees a portfolio of projects, software development requests, and support requirements related to Web and Product Design & Development systems.
• Oversees all administrative Web aspects including budgeting, development, recruiting, training, reporting, and quality control.
• Oversees the Web team and Web development process, and is the interface between the Web development team and other functional groups (UI design, content, marketing and communications, etc.)
• Participates in the development of a strategy plan, policies, and procedures. Ensures compliance with appropriate practices.
• Researches emerging technologies in Web design and technologies, providing recommendations applicable to existing products and to the initiation of new programs.Education Qualifications• Bachelor's Degree in a work-related field/discipline from an accredited college or universityExperience Qualifications• Ten (10) years of experience managing and leading software development using Web technologies in n-tier architecture and complex environments for large software engineering projects.Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities•

• Knowledge and demonstrated experience managing and leading development teams implementing Web applications
• Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area
• Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JSP, Perl, and XML required
• Knowledge of J2EE technologies (JSP, EJB, Servlets, JDBC), HTTP, XML, DHTML, JavaScript, multi-threaded server development. Solid understanding and experience of JEE application servers
