How will you power what’s possible?Location: Ft Worth, TXShift: VariesPay Rate: $45.00 – $50.00Job DescriptionPosition SummaryThis position is responsible for the safe repair and rejuvenation of medium to high voltage underground cables using Novinium’s patented technology and processes.ResponsibilitiesSafetyWork safely with no electrical contact incidents or personal injuriesEnhance and advance a below zero incident safety culture and behaviorComprehend and follow OSHA and company safety rulesResponsible for the safety of all people at a worksiteCraftworkOperate TDR waveform and RF locating equipment to perform cable testing and analysis of cable paths, splice locations and neutral corrosionPlace and operate cable injection equipment on de-energized and energized cables in transformers, switchgear, junction boxes and at other cable end pointsPerform air flow testsPrepare cable for injection activities, including electrical craftwork according to quality standardsInject URD and feeder cables with Novinium patented repair/rejuvenation fluids using sustained and un-sustained rejuvenation technologiesProvide field service and set up injection equipmentSwitch medium voltage electrical circuitsWrite and implement cable switching orders, manage switching contact with circuit ownerClimb poles to perform work if neededCarry out other duties as assignedProject ManagementMay coordinate injection and digging activities (competency in excavation)Maintain rolling stock and equipmentSelect Injection Adapters, and cable accessoriesAssist Team Leader with job planning, hazard avoidance, and recording daily work recordsOperate company vehicles and equipment, including bucket trucks, as requiredCustomer RelationsProvide positive customer serviceRequirementsRelevant work experience as a Lineman, Class A Lineman, Class B Lineman, First Class Power Lineman, or Cable Splicer with current certification or documentationExperience with underground line work, including URD, fault location and repair, and switchingStrong Lineman underground craftwork skills, including inline splices, terminations and elbowsAbility to read circuit mapsBasic computer skills and entry level proficiency with MS Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, internet/web)Understanding of basic construction skillsStrong mechanical skillsFamiliarity with URD systems and cables, fault repair and switchingSafe work record and a firm commitment to safetyValid driver’s license and acceptable DMV recordCDL preferredPassport and ability to travel to Canada preferredWorking ConditionsAble and willing to travel on a regular basisAble to safely climb poles if neededAble to lift, push, pull and carry at least 75 lbs. for a distance of 300 ft.Able to stand, kneel and work in confined spaces for an extended period of timeMust be able to fit into a confined space rescue harnessMust conduct digging operations as requiredFrequent sitting, standing and walkingFrequent exposure to seasonal elementsConditions may vary based on assignmentBenefits We Offer:•401k with Matching & Pension Plan (Eligible for Pension after 1,000 Hours Worked)•Family and Individual Insurance Packages (Health, Life, Dental, and Vision)•Paid Time Off & Paid Holidays•Long & Short-Term Disability•Supplemental Insurance Plans•Employee Assistance Program•Employee Referral Program•Tuition Reimbursement Programs•Advancement & Professional Growth opportunities•Parental Leave•& MoreSouthwire is an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.Nearest Major Market: Fort WorthNearest Secondary Market: DallasApply now »Apply for this jobStats for this jobSalary comparison:This jobNational
