Job TitleTufting Process EngineerPosition OverviewShaw Industries is hiring a Process Engineer in the Tufting Department. This position is responsible for continuously improving the Safety, Quality, and Productivity of the Tufting Department at Plant 04 . T he Process Engineer will s erve the Tufting Department by assisting with the day-to-day management and implementation of the department's requirements within the carpet manufacturing process . This includes providing leadership and direction for Safety Initiatives, Quality Improvement Teams, Reliability Teams, and Process Improvement Teams. The position provides technical assistance to department supervisors, hourly associates & internal customers daily, and provides support to the Tufting Manager.Responsibilities:+ Act as liaison between the Department Manager and department employees by providing effective lines of communication within the department.+ Monitor all departmental production, quality, processes, and procedures.+ Ensure all departmental SMS procedures and instructions are followed.+ Give directions and support to department employees regarding achieving departmental goals.+ Assist in coordinating and maintaining the tufting department's workforce to ensure that goals and objectives are feasible .+ Assist employees in resolving any job-related problems or concerns.+ Work with Scheduling on yarn issues and orders.+ Work with yarn vendors and quality to resolve issues+ Coordinate, develop, and execute departmental projects to improve efficiency, productivity, and quality.+ Assist in the areas of S.A.F.E. ensuring that the Tufting Department remains within the set safety goals.+ Act as department driver for TPM program.+ Coordinate and oversee the TMS for tufting.+ Serve as Six Sigma Green Belt for the Tufting Department and w ork with the Tufting Department as P.I. Coordinator.+ Fill in for Department Manager as necessary.+ Attend and/or conduct weekly staff meetings with employees.+ Actively participate in P.R.I.D.E. process, SMS, and S.A.F.E. programs.+ Be available to assist all supervisors with problems that may occur including but not limited to: Disciplinary action , PI Process, TMS, quality, safety, equipment, and training.+ Perform other non- quality-related duties as directed by plant management.+ Follow Tufting Engineer Leader Standard Work+ Lead/Audit the Tier 1/2 process.+ Serve on each of the 4 key leadership steering teams of Safety
