School Bus Driver (Paid CDL Training)

Jay's Bus Service is a privately owned school bus company founded in 2008 by Jay Ellinson and based in Lakewood, NJ, with yards in Tinton Falls (1035 Wayside Road), Middletown (49 Kanes Lane) and Lakewood. We transport students for public and private school districts across Monmouth and Ocean County, plus camps and charters. We are hiring School Bus Drivers at all four locations. No experience needed: we personally train you, and training is fully paid.

What you will do:

- Pick up and drop off students safely along your assigned route, morning and afternoon

- Keep a calm, safe and friendly atmosphere for every rider

- Do pre trip and post trip inspections and report anything that needs attention

- Follow district schedules, radio procedures and all safety rules

- Pick up extra hours on athletics, field trips, camps and charters if you want them

What we look for:

- At least 21 years of age with an acceptable driving record

- CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, or willingness to complete our paid training to get licensed to drive a school bus in New Jersey

- Able to pass a criminal background check with fingerprinting, a pre employment drug test and physical, and a behind the wheel evaluation

- Patient, reliable and good with kids

Schedules and pay: Part time, full time and overtime available; you choose the schedule that suits you. Pay as posted on job boards for our Tinton Falls location is $18.50 to $23.00 per hour, and postings have offered sign on bonuses for drivers with and without a CDL.
