About this role
Klarr Transport Services Inc. is a family owned and operated school transportation company based at 185 Lehigh Avenue in Lakewood, NJ. Since 2004 we have served districts across Monmouth and Ocean County, transporting over 1,000 students on about 300 routes every day, plus athletics, field trips and private charters. Safety is our first priority. We are hiring School Bus Drivers, and we offer a free, full CDL Class B training program for people who do not have a CDL yet.
What you will do:
- Pick up and drop off students safely along assigned routes, mornings and afternoons
- Keep a calm, friendly and safe atmosphere for every rider in your care
- Assist with loading and unloading, including students who need extra help
- Do pre trip and post trip vehicle inspections and report any issues
- Follow district schedules, radio procedures and all safety rules
What we look for:
- At least 23 years of age with a valid U.S. driver license held for the past 36 months
- CDL with Passenger and School Bus endorsements, or willingness to complete our free CDL Class B training
- Clean driving history; able to pass a drug test and a criminal background check
- Patience, a calm demeanor and a real liking for kids
- Reliable and on time every day
Schedules and pay: Split shifts most days (morning and afternoon runs), which suits parents, retirees and second job seekers. Pay as posted is $23 per hour for trainees and $25 and up for established drivers, with yearly pay increases, performance incentives, paid sick leave, 401K, health, dental, term life and accident insurance.
