About this role
Description SAIC is seeking a
Maintenance Field Engineer to support the US Navy in Crane, IN. Note: This position will travel up to 50% to locations at Office of Inspector General and other locations nationwide, and at Crane, IN (Honolulu, Hawaii, San Diego, CA, Tampa, FL, Cleveland, OH, Denver, CO and Crane, IN). Lodging, car rentals, and airfare will be provided for travel. Per Diem rates vary based on location of travel.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
+ Provide field engineering and technical support services to maintain and sustain fielded physical security systems at designate locations
+ Provide design, installation, troubleshooting, logistics and repair of shore based electronic security systems
+ Provide feedback to program leadership regarding system performance and end-user feedback
+ Perform operator and maintainer tasks on equipment, integrated systems, subsystems, and software
+ Install, operate, maintain, and troubleshoot electronic security systems and physical security systems
+ Perform troubleshooting, fault isolation, and repair to the Line-Replaceable Unit (LRU) level before escalating to higher-level maintenance
+ Assist with packaging and Return Material Authorization processes for non-mission capable systems or equipment to higher-level maintenance facilities
+ Facilitate weekly site status meetings with Field Service Engineers (FSEs), Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), and customers to report on system performance and provide updates
+ Conduct parts replacements, system upgrades, and deployments using diagnostic tools and technical expertise
+ Typical systems include access control and intrusion detection systems that operate from and are compatible with the infrastructure at each location
+ Managing Bosch Alarm systems and programming new systems using RPS
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
+ Bachelor's and five (2) years or more experience.. Additional years of experience accepted in lieu of degree
+ Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in related military security systems maintenance and inspection
CLEARANCE:
+ U.S. CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED
+ Must be able to obtain a Full DOD Secret Clearance. SAIC will sponsor qualified candidates for a security clearance. Able to start once interim Secret clearance is granted
DESIRED SKILLS:
+ Microsoft Office Suite (PowerPoint, Excel, Word), Adobe Pro for Blueprint drawings
+ Familiarity with personal computers, switches, routers, Internet Protocol (IP) addressing, network topologies, and troubleshooting procedures
