VISIONRedeemer East Harlem is a church both in and for East Harlem that seeks to both know and show the love of God in Christ.MISSIONAs a church of Jesus Christ, Redeemer East Harlem seeks to know and show the love of Christ through a movement of the Gospel that brings personal conversion, spiritual formation, community involvement, mercy and justice, and avenues for cultural, racial, and socioeconomic unity.Position: Administration Coordinator –– Redeemer East Harlem ChurchFLSA Status: Non-ExemptDepartment: Redeemer East Harlem (REH)Reports To: REH Lead Pastor and other staff as neededDate: July 6 (2-week training period to follow)Hours Worked: Part-Time (approx. 20 hours with the need for some seasonal increases); work can be done remotelySalary Range: $24-$32 per hourPosition Summary:The Redeemer East Harlem Administration Coordinator will assist staff with various weekly tasks related to worship, membership, website, CGs, classes, and more.Job Description:Worship Service Administration**• Create and send weekly stage notes to the appropriate staff or volunteers
• Create Sunday bulletin for online usage (and for in-person worship, when needed)
• Create/edit weekly PowerPoint for Sunday, which will include pre-determined liturgy, songs, and announcement slides, as well as special content provided by Lead Pastor
• Create ProPresenter playlist; ensure necessary content is available for volunteer teams
• Work with the Pastor and Worship Director on worship-related items that arise
• Send welcome emails to newcomers who fill out a connection card, and connect them with the appropriate resources
• Create the weekly worship livestream links and registration
• Maintain the worship planning document, including some volunteer schedules as needed**Communication**• Handle registration and communication for all classes, events, volunteer opportunities, and special communications
• Format, edit, and send the weekly newsletter
• Edit communications, as needed**Payments**• Collect paperwork and send payments for those who are hired, as needed
• Collect paperwork and send payments of honorariums
• Send payments for musicians**Membership**• Handle registration and communication of the membership class
• Organize and maintain membership applications
• Coordinate officer interviews
• Follow up with approved members and communicate public vows
• Create appropriate documents for all baptisms**Other Admin Tasks (training is available to learn all tasks, as needed)**• Format and upload weekly community group guide
• Copy-editing and content management, as needed
• Occasional website updates
• Maintain and update the church calendar
• Upload sermons to podcast, YouTube, and other outlets
• Receive, assess, and distribute emails from the main REH email address
• Send church-wide emails (as needed)
• Send birthday and get-well cards (regularly)**Qualifications:• Must embrace Redeemer’s vision and have a gospel-oriented heart for New York City and especially East Harlem. **Candidates must be aligned with core theological principles of Redeemer and the Presbyterian Church in America
• Excellent communication skills, strong interpersonal and organizational skills
• Very detail-oriented
• Understands M-F work hours are generally flexible with rare hours on Sundays
• Ability to maintain professionalism during crises or any unexpected situations
• Ability to remain discreet while handling sensitive information in a church setting
• Adheres to biblical/Christian ethics and personal behavior/conduct is reflective
• Must be a team-player**Skills & ExperiencesExcellent organizational, communication, multitasking, and interpersonal skills. Proficient in MS Office applications (Word, Excel) or Google alternatives (Google Docs, Google Sheets), database management and online applications (Google calendar, Google documents, etc.), and ability to learn ProPresenter and Planning Center, if not already familiar.The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill set; experience and training; licensure, certifications, and ordination; and other organizational needs.Use of Hiring Technology
