About this role

Pennoni is seeking a Staff Highway Engineer I for our Transportation Division at their Pittsburgh, PA office. The ideal candidate will be a person who is experienced with and able to complete the following tasks:• Perform assigned highway design tasks on transportation projects, research design criteria and complete assigned tasks related to horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, and other roadway design layout items.

• Use various engineering software and publications to provide engineering solutions to design issues, coordinate with other staff, develop design plans, quantities, project special details, and part or all of design reports as needed.

• Will also be responsible for preparing engineering documents and plans in accordance with the company/project CADD standards.

• Assist with field work and other data collection efforts related to the project design process.

Required Attributes:• Required education: Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering, MS a plus.

• Minimum years of work experience: 4-7

• Proficient in Microstation, Inroads (preferably Open Roads), and Microsoft programs.

• Familiar with PennDOT and PA Turnpike standards and programs (AutoTab and Tab Wizard).

• Licenses Required: EIT, PE (or working towards PE)Preferred Attributes:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills.

• Traffic and/or drainage design experience a plus.
