Our team believes in every client’s ability to achieve recovery and rebuild meaningful, engaged lives in their communities.Position: Lab AssistantJob Summary: The Lab Assistant is responsible for collecting urine samples, ensuring the integrity and security of each sample, and adhering to strict protocols and regulations.Duties and Responsibilities:• Completes point of care testing using CLIA waived devices.• Responsible for specimen handling (accessioning, labeling and aliquoting), while maintaining specimen integrity and sample identification.• Monitors lab orders in the client chart and performs testing according to the provider orders.• Follows appropriate infection prevention procedures, utilizing PPE, and follows restrictions in contaminated areas.• Utilizes multiple computer software platforms and electronic tools to ensure compliant lab testing, enter client data, communicate with the lab and treatment teams, and support the overall function of the lab team.• Refers to provider notes in the client charts, communicates the need for order transcription to the verbal orders team and may transcribe provider lab orders as appropriate.• Follows processes to ensure schedules are complete, collection information is sent to the treatment team and all orders are updated in the client chart to accurately reflect completion.• Maintains HIPAA compliance, managing sensitive information appropriately and maintaining the dignity and privacy of the clients.• Utilizes the Laboratory Information System to access and receive samples as well as access client reports.• Accesses the client electronic medical record to enter lab results into the client chart.• Alerts clinical and medical staff to abnormal lab results according to policy.• Enters billing data into the client chart according to policy.• Appropriately disposes of chemical and biological waste in accordance with policy and regulatory requirements.• Completes required daily and monthly lab maintenance logs and checklists.• Monitors inventory levels, place appropriate orders for supplies and always maintain par levels.• Transports samples to the main lab for testing and ensuring samples are transported timely.• Conducts a high standard of professionalism and abides by the LBHS Code of Conduct of Ethical Behavior.• Other duties as assigned.Required Qualifications:• High School Diploma or equivalent• Valid State of Ohio Driver's License, insurance, and willingness to travel• Must pass BCI check, all Corporate Compliance checks, and employment drug screen• Must be 25 years or olderDesired Qualifications:• Previous experience in a healthcare or laboratory setting• Strong interpersonal and communication skillsSchedule: Full time, Monday - Friday 8:30am - 5pmCompensation Range: $19.25 - $24.81Location**: Marysville, OHOur benefits package includes paid time off (PTO and sick time), paid holidays, medical/dental/vision, 401(k), life insurance, paid continuing education with supervision, parental leave, and eligibility for loan forgiveness programs.LBHS is an equal opportunity employer, and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, age, color, religion, sex, national origin, sexual orientation, disability status, genetics, gender identity and/or expression, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by federal, state, or local law.LBHS adheres to Title VII of the Civil Rights Act as amended, Ohio Civil Rights Act, and all applicable rules and regulations.
