Job Title: Specialist, System Safety Engineer Job ID: 33625 Job Location: Waco, Texas; On-site Job Schedule: 9/80, off every other Friday Job Description: Systems Safety Engineers assure that systems provide acceptable levels ofsafety and that critical systems perform as needed even when components fail. Engineer will identify and manage risk in order to eliminate or reduce it to acceptable levels. Risk is the combination of the probability of a failure event and the severity resulting from the failure.Essential Functions: • Must possess the ability to establish and execute a MIL-STD-882 safety program that concludes with a comprehensive safety assessment.

• Must possess the ability to understand the concepts of preliminary and system hazard analysis, hazard logs, fault tree analyses, environmental assessment and management, risk assessments and mitigation and occupational health hazard assessments.

• Ability to translate system requirements into functional requirements

• Ability to interpret technical drawings

• Able to work independently or in a team

• Avaialble for minimal travel when required

Qualifications: • Bachelors degree in engineering or related technical discipline with a minimum of five (5) years relevant experience. The equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience can be considered.

• Candidate must be able to obtain/maintain a Secret clearance. Must be able to pass additional security background checks as required.

Preferred Additional Skills: • Aircraft platform experience

• Pilot experience

• Reliability and maintainability modeling skills

• FMECA experience

• Human Factors modeling and simulation experience

• Working knowledge of PTC WindChill (Releyence)
