About this role
STAR Building Services is a Shrewsbury, NJ based building services company that has provided janitorial, porter, building maintenance, front desk and disinfection services to multi-family residential, commercial and educational facilities across New Jersey since 2003. We are hiring Janitorial Cleaners and Porters (day porter, night porter, weekend porter and handy porter roles) for client buildings in and around Monmouth County.
What you will do:
- Clean and maintain common areas, offices, restrooms, lobbies, hallways and classrooms to STAR standards
- Sweep, mop, vacuum, dust, empty trash and recycling, and restock supplies
- Use environmentally friendly cleaning products and disinfecting protocols
- Report maintenance issues and problem areas to your supervisor or superintendent
- Represent STAR professionally with tenants, building staff and clients
What we look for:
- Reliable, on time and able to work independently or on a small crew
- Prior cleaning, janitorial, porter or housekeeping experience is a plus but not required; we train
- Ability to stand, walk, lift and carry throughout a shift
- Dependable transportation to assigned buildings
- Willingness to complete a background check
Schedules and pay: Full time and part time, with day, night and weekend shifts depending on the building. Pay is discussed at interview.
