Our 11‑acre academic cancer campus in Irvine includes the Lennar Foundation Cancer Center and will soon expand with Orange County’s only cancer specialty hospital, opening in late 2025. Together, these facilities will offer the full continuum of advanced cancer care—from prevention through survivorship—supported by leading-edge clinical trials, surgical suites, and holistic patient services. Position Summary The Food Service Worker II plays a key role in delivering an exceptional dining experience for patients, visitors, and staff. This position supports food preparation, meal assembly, service, sanitation, and customer interaction across various food service areas. Key Responsibilities • Assemble patient meal trays by reading menu cards, portioning food, and ensuring accuracy. • Set up and restock stations with entrées, soups, salads, beverages, and service ware. • Serve and replenish food from counters and steam tables; brew coffee and tea. • Clean and sanitize workstations, equipment, dining areas, and dishware. • Operate a cash register, process payments, issue receipts, and follow cash‑handling procedures. • Assist patients with meal selections and input meal orders. • Provide friendly, high‑quality service in dining and retail areas. • Follow all safety, sanitation, infection control, and compliance guidelines. • Participate in required training and maintain confidentiality and integrity. • Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications • Education: High school diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. • Experience: 2–3 years of work experience; food service or cash‑handling experience preferred. • Required Certification: Valid Food Handlers Card. • Preferred Certification: Food Safety certification as required by state law. • Skills: Basic equipment operation, customer service, and attention to detail.
