About this role

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-11) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Ensuring financial administration program compliance by advising management on budgeting concepts, principles, laws, and regulations, recommending efficient methods for the acquisition and use of funds; 2) Investigating, analyzing and modifying programs, operations, and financial systems of agency-wide activities; 3) Creating and interpreting reports and data, ensuring the integrity, timeliness and accuracy of funds and financial obligations; and 4) Implementing legal and regulatory control over approved budgets by evaluating, presenting, and defending budget requests, obligations and expenditures. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. Major Duties: - You will advise and contribute on work in any phases of systems of budget administration, to include formulation of budget /estimates to support plans, programs, and activities. - You will present and defend budget estimates to leadership; review and evaluate budget requests; control, and report on obligations and expenditures. - You will analyze and recommend costs/benefit of alternative methods of financial management of the institution's programs and activities. - You will execute modifications to systems, programs, and/or operations and establish criteria and other means to assess, investigate, or analyze a variety of unusual problems and conditions. - You will perform a variety of analytical, technical, and administrative work for substantive programs and activities.
