About this role
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NT-04 pay band (GS-11/12 equivalency) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: leading a technical team by delegating tasks, managing network-related projects, and overseeing the lifecycle of hardware, software, or operating systems to ensure optimal data communications and network security. Examples of qualifying experience may include: Managing and securing complex Information System Networks. A strong technical command of networking protocols (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP), routing and switching, and the use of advanced network troubleshooting tools to ensure system availability. Assessing risks and vulnerabilities within a network infrastructure and applying Cyber Security tools and industry best practices to mitigate threats. Your experience must reflect skill in the following areas: attention to detail, customer service, oral communication, and problem solving. Major Duties:
- You will monitor network performance through continuous monitoring of network health, traffic patterns, and capacity using available network management tools such as SolarWinds.
- You will lead efforts to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve network-related incidents and outages.
- You will oversee a team of network engineers, technicians, and support staff, ensuring they perform their duties efficiently.
- You will identify and implement strategies to optimize network performance, including load balancing, traffic shaping, and reducing bottlenecks.
- You will lead network-related projects, such as upgrades, migrations, or new deployments, ensuring that they are completed on time, within budget, and according to specifications.
