You qualify for the GS-13 grade level if you possess one (1) year of specialized experience at the GS-12 grade level or equivalent performing duties such as: Advising on security administration programs and systems. Making recommendations to leadership and program offices concerning overall plans and proposals for agency and interagency security projects. Informing supervisors about progress on potentially controversial matters or developing security conditions or requirements with far-reaching implications. Researching and implementing new or proposed security methods and procedures within the organization. Analyzing a variety of complex or unusual security problems, questions, or conditions associated with other security disciplines. National Service Experience (i.e., volunteer experience): Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Major Duties: - As a Security Specialist, you will perform the following duties: Undertake the PACS (Physical Access Control System) framework and interoperability. Establish and ensure compliance with interagency security policies. Ensure that all program objectives, milestones, and timelines are met. Effectively communicate with field personnel, management, and senior leadership concerning security strategies and procedures for electronic access control systems.
