About this role
Job Summary (Jira Administrator / Atlassian Platform Administrator) Rate: $75/hr Client: Kestra Financial Location: Austin, TX This is a contract to hire so we can only work W2 and consider candidates who do not require sponsorship now or in the future.
- Serve as the primary administrator and subject matter expert for the Atlassian ecosystem (Jira, Confluence, etc.) across the enterprise.
- Own and manage the administration, configuration, and maintenance of Jira, Confluence, and related Atlassian tools.
- Influence and implement platform governance, architecture, and best practices to ensure scalability, maintainability, and avoid technical debt.
- Support and enable engineering teams by providing scalable, well-governed platform solutions and strategic guidance.
- Configure projects, workflows, permissions, notifications, automations, and integrations within Jira and Confluence.
- Partner with Agile, Engineering, Product, and Technology teams to understand requirements and recommend optimal platform solutions.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform issues, manage user access and permissions, and handle platform upgrades and documentation.
- Develop and maintain platform documentation, standards, and administration procedures.
- Advise on and support integrations with other tools (such as GitHub, CI/CD tooling, SonarQube, and other developer enablement platforms).
- Provide user support, training, and guidance on platform use and best practices.
- Evaluate, recommend, and implement improvements to enhance user experience, adoption, reporting, dashboards, workflows, and automation.
- Support initiatives related to Atlassian Cloud administration and potential platform migrations.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to resolve incidents and fulfill service requests related to the Atlassian ecosystem.
Required Experience
- 5+ years of hands-on Jira Administration in enterprise environments.
- Strong experience with Jira Software, Jira Service Management, and Confluence.
- Expertise in configuring workflows, permissions, schemes, dashboards, filters, automations, and reporting.
- Demonstrated ability to support multiple teams within a shared Atlassian environment.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Experience
- Administration of GitHub and familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices.
- Experience with code quality platforms like SonarQube.
- Working knowledge of Atlassian Cloud and platform migrations.
- Scripting or automation experience.
- Experience supporting developer enablement platforms and working in Agile/Scrum environments.
