If you're excited to shape the future of design and collaboration, join us!We’re looking for a Director of Safety & Physical Security to lead and scale our approach to keeping Figmates, offices, and physical assets safe. This role leads physical safety and security strategy and operations across Figma, from offices and events to incident response and executive support, while partnering closely with Workplace, IT, Legal, People, and executive leadership.As Figma continues to grow and operate in increasingly complex environments, this role ensures our approach to physical safety scales with the company and remains thoughtful, risk-based, and trusted.This senior leadership role is for someone who brings strong judgment, knows how to build and mature security programs in fast-moving organizations, and is equally comfortable setting strategy and stepping in when situations require hands-on leadership.This is a full time role that can be held from our San Francisco Hub.What you’ll do at Figma:• Own and lead Figma’s physical safety and security strategy, ensuring consistent standards while adapting to local risks and regulations• Build, scale, and operate physical security programs across offices, events, and travel• Lead incident response for critical safety and security events, including threat assessment, crisis management, and post-incident review• Own and evolve the executive protection program, including risk assessments, travel security, event support, and coordination with internal and external partners• Assess and manage the physical threat landscape, including workplace violence, protests, travel risk, natural disasters, and executive risk• Partner closely with Workplace, IT, Legal, People, and Executive teams to align security priorities with business needs• Establish clear risk-based policies, decision frameworks, and escalation paths• Develop and lead a high-performing security team, manage external vendors, and communicate clearly with senior leaders during both steady-state operations and incidentsWe'd love to hear from you if you have:• 10+ years of experience in security, risk management, or safety operations, including 5+ years leading and scaling organizational programs and teams• Proven track record building and operating company-wide physical safety and security programs in fast-growing, distributed, multi-region environments• Deep expertise in modern physical threat landscapes, with strong judgment in crisis management and the ability to translate risk into clear, executive-level priorities• Demonstrated success influencing senior stakeholders and partnering cross-functionally with IT, Workplace, Legal, People, and executive leadership• Strategic, systems-oriented leader and confident communicator who builds high-performing teams and effectively represents security with executives, regulators, auditors, and customersWhile not required, it’s an added plus if you also have:• Familiarity with overlapping cyber/physical risk and partnership with InfoSec teams• Bilingual in Spanish, Hebrew or PortugueseAt Figma, one of our values is Grow as you go. Pay Transparency Disclosure If based in Figma’s San Francisco or New York hub offices, this role has the annual base salary range stated below.Job level and actual compensation will be decided based on factors including, but not limited to, individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process (including skills and prior relevant experience, potential impact, and scope of role), market demands, and specific work location. The listed range is a guideline, and the range for this role may be modified. For roles that are available to be filled remotely, the pay range is localized according to employee work location by a factor of between 80% and 100% of range. Figma also offers sales incentive pay for most sales roles and an annual bonus plan for eligible non-sales roles.
