About this role
New Horizons in Autism is a private nonprofit founded in 1980 that serves adults with autism and their families through residential group homes, day habilitation, in-home support, ABA-based clinical services, assistive technology and supported employment across Monmouth, Ocean and Bergen counties. We are hiring Direct Support Professionals for our Monmouth County residential homes and will be meeting candidates at the Monmouth County Fall Job Fair on Sept 16 at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft.
What you will do:
- Work daily, hands-on with adults with autism in a residential home setting
- Help with daily living skills, meals, hygiene, and community outings
- Run individualized programs and collect, record and graph data on progress
- Accurately dispense and record medications once trained
- Use sound judgment and communicate effectively with individuals with autism
What we look for:
- High school diploma or GED
- Valid driver's license
- Experience with individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders is a plus, not required
- Patience, reliability and a calm approach
- Background check as required for working with adults with disabilities
Schedules and pay: full-time and part-time shifts in 24/7 residential homes. Recent postings list $19.00 to $19.50 per hour. Benefits include medical, dental, vision and FSA, 401(k), paid training, 144 hours of PTO and 48 hours of sick time per year, 8 paid holidays, a $1,000 employee referral bonus, an annual tenure bonus, a free RBT certification program with free BACB supervision, and tuition and employee discount programs. Flexible in-person interviews are available Monday through Friday at the administrative office in Morganville.
