About this role
EIHAB Human Services is a multilingual, multicultural nonprofit founded in 1997 that supports children and adults with developmental disabilities, intellectual disabilities, autism, behavioral health challenges and dual diagnoses. Our New Jersey office in Howell runs residential group homes, day programs, respite and community services across Monmouth, Ocean, Middlesex, Somerset, Burlington and Bergen counties. We are hiring Direct Support Professionals in Monmouth County and will be meeting candidates at the Monmouth County Fall Job Fair on Sept 16 at Brookdale Community College in Lincroft.
What you will do:
- Provide hands-on support to individuals with developmental disabilities in a residential or day program setting
- Help create a safe, therapeutic, family-like environment
- Promote independence, community engagement, social interaction and daily living skills
- Drive individuals to appointments, activities and community outings in agency vehicles
- Follow each person's plan and document care accurately
What we look for:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- At least 21 years of age
- At least 2 years of related work or life experience
- Valid New Jersey driver's license with a clean driving record and at least 3 years of driving history (required for full-time positions)
- Patience, reliability and clear communication
- Background check and fingerprinting as required for working with vulnerable individuals
Schedules and pay: day, evening, overnight and per diem shifts in residential services, plus a Monday to Friday 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM day program schedule in Howell. Published pay for Monmouth County DSP roles is $18.25 to $19.25 per hour. EIHAB offers competitive salary packages, comprehensive benefits, and opportunities for professional growth and advancement.
