This may include processing Cytology Non- Gynecological specimens, including, but not limited to data- entry, labeling, staining, coverslipping, maintaining lab organization and cleanliness, operation and maintenance of equipment, and adhering to quality control and quality assurance procedures.The Cytology Processor maintains flexibility with regard to work schedule including section assignment, daily work shift and days of the week as determined by business need.The schedule will be Full Time (Monday - Friday, 10:00am - 6:30pm) in our Austin lab. The main duties and responsibilities include the following, but not limited to:• Multi-task efficiently and maintain flexibility in processing samples across multiple workflows.• Ensure adherence to turnaround times and productivity goals while working collaboratively as part of a team.• Identify specimen processing issues that may impact analytical or post-analytical activities.• Immediately notify supervisors of any problems to maintain quality and compliance.• Create sample batches and triage samples for automated processors.• Assist in preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and quality control activities following lab policies and procedures.• Prepare and store reagents as needed.• Follow detailed instructions and adhere strictly to established procedures.• Perform all duties in accordance with compliance regulations and quality system guidelines.• Maintain laboratory supplies and materials inventory.• Complete administrative duties, including copying, filing, and data entry.• Assist in research and validation activities to support laboratory advancements.• Take ownership and accountability for delivering exceptional service to internal and external stakeholders.• Perform site-specific or lab-specific tasks as assigned.• Understands and adheres to internal and external regulatory standards.• Ability to follow detailed instructions and adapt to procedural changes.• Strong organizational skills, with a commitment to maintaining high-quality standards.• Compliance with company policies, procedures, safety requirements, and regulations.Who You Are: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE• High school diploma or equivalent required• Bachelor’s degree preferred• 1 or more year of experience in a laboratory settingOTHER SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES• Exposure to general laboratory environment conditions• Ability to follow detailed instructions and maintain accurate records• Strong attention to detail and organization skills• Basic computer skills, including data entry and use of LIMS• Excellent problem-solving skills• Excellent written and oral communication skills• Ability to work independently and exercise good judgement• Excellent teamwork and collaboration skills• Excellent interpersonal skills• Enthusiasm and an entrepreneurial spirit• Demonstrated self-starter• Excellent verbal and written communication skills• The ability to navigate efficiently through, or have familiarity with, various laboratory information systems (LIS) and have proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, Access and PowerPoint)PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS• Repetitive movement of hands, arms, and legs• Ability to stand or sit for extended periods of time• Manual dexterity and visual acuity for handling and processing specimens• Ability to wear personal protective equipment, including glove, lab coats, and safety glasses• Repetitive movement of fingers (typing and/or writing)• Sitting, with occasional walking, standing, stooping, and moving about• Occasionally required to lift to 25 pounds#LI-OnsiteThe final salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience, skillset, geographic location, industry, education, etc. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.Pay range$24 — $28 USDWhat We Can Offer YouVeracyte is a growing company that offers significant career opportunities if you are curious, driven, patient-oriented and aspire to help us build a great company.
