DESCRIPTION We are looking for a talented


**Reliability Associate-Analyst

- Level III** to join our team specializing in Engineering for our Cummins Inc. facility in Rocky Mount, NC


In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:

+ Deliver reliable, data riven insights by gathering, analyzing, and summarizing reliability metrics to enable informed decision making for leadership.

+ Accelerate engineering productivity by providing accurate, well structured data queries and analyses to support product reliability engineers.

+ Add value to engineering and quality leaders by completing special analytical requests that enhance product understanding and problem resolution.

+ Strengthen reliability conclusions by partnering closely with reliability engineers to interpret data trends and connect insights to product performance.

+ Enhance problem solving continuity as a dependable backup to the Failure Analysis leader, performing data entry, adhoc queries, and issue tracking activities.

+ Support new product development success by contributing to reliability and risk management activities throughout the product lifecycle.

+ Promote functional alignment and continuous improvement by actively participating in functional excellence meetings and taking on additional tasks as needed.


RESPONSIBILITIES


To be successful in this role you will need the following:

+ A solid understanding of reliability engineering principles, including failure rate behavior, life distributions, failure modes, and design life expectations, so I can confidently evaluate whether current and proposed designs meet durability and availability targets.

+ Strong capability with Product Failure Reporting and Corrective/Preventive Action Systems (FRACAS) to accurately record, prioritize, and resolve failures using cross functional reviews, structured problem solving methods, and effective data management practices.

+ Proficiency in quantitative reliability analysis, including the ability to build and interpret failure rate models, assess feasibility of meeting reliability targets, compare alternative designs, and verify that implemented improvements are achieving expected outcomes.

+ Clear, audience specific communication skills to translate complex analytical findings into meaningful insights for engineering, quality, and leadership stakeholders.

+ A strong results driven mindset that keeps projects moving forward, maintains focus under pressure, and ensures reliability workstreams meet deadlines and deliver value.

+ Commitment to personal accountability, ensuring my work is accurate, timely, and that I hold myself and others responsible for meeting commitments that impact reliability outcomes.

+ High comfort with complexity, enabling me to analyze large volumes of sometimes contradictory data, make sense of emerging trends, and support effective decision making.

+ Advanced data analytics skills, including statistics, data validation, visualization, and problem solving methodologies, to extract patterns and insights that support data driven business decisions.

+ An appreciation for diverse perspectives and backgrounds, enabling collaboration across functions, cultures, and disciplines to improve product reliability and strengthen team outcomes.


Education, Licenses, Certifications: High school diploma, certificate of completion of secondary education or equivalent experience in an appropriate STEM field is required. Regionally applicable certification or two year Associates Degree from an accredited college or university in a relevant field of study may be required. This position may require licensing for compliance with export controls or sanctions regulations.


Experience: Requires significant relevant work experience or specialized skills obtained through education, training or on-the-job experience.


QUALIFICATIONS

+ Thorough knowledge of RMEP's data systems including but not limited to: CMES, Toolsnet, Comptek, 3DX

+ Knowledge of Cummins warranty tools such as RADAR, PFT, Insite

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI, Minitab

+ Ability to present information to wide-ranging audiences including internal customers and RMEP / Platform leadership

+ Ability to collaborate with teammates on failure analysis and support multiple work flows simultaneously

+ Working knowledge of the CTR submission and approval process

+ Publishing authorization through GPST and the service literature change control board (CCB)

+ Utilize basic statistics knowledge to analyze RMEP data trends to predict possible field issues

+ Knowledge of the service literature update / creation process for TSBs, service manuals, bulletins, and troubleshooting guides

+ Proficiency in business-oriented writing and communication.

+ Utilize AI processing to pull data from multiple sources and to streamline analysis workflows
