Job SummaryThe Credit Balance Specialist examines all credit balances before refunds or adjudications. They must comply with Billing and Coding Laws and the Baylor Scott & White Code and Ethical Conduct Policy.
Essential Functions of the Role+ Accountable for all patient credit balances.+ Consistently works to ensure all credit balances are handled in a timely manner.+ Can figure out why an account has a credit balance with little or no supervision.+ Examines the patient account for posting errors before considering refund/adjudication.+ Searches for other related accounts before refunding private pay credit balances.+ Knows the Managed Care contracts and contractual adjustments.+ Ensures timely processing of credit balance paperwork and posting.+ Monitors and reports up to management any trends that are identified.+ Documents productivity daily for reporting.+ Follows the quality review standards set forth.+ Must have an ergonomically set up workspace+ Equipment will be provided

QUALIFICATIONS+ EDUCATION
- H.S. Diploma/GED Equivalent+ EXPERIENCE
