Scheduling Charge Specialist Responsibilities

+ Responsible for patient scheduling, journaling across a broad range of surgical services departments.

+ Requires constant professional and courteous liaison between physicians, physician offices and surgical stakeholders, often in a fast-paced environment.

+ A high degree of organization, accuracy, and clear communication with providers and their offices is- required to ensure all surgical procedure requirements are well documented.

+ Responsible for balancing transactions between two computer systems, running daily revenue reports and auditing charges for each surgery performed. It is a multitasking environment that requires interaction between anesthesia, finance, OR Clinical III Nurses, Materials Management, OR management and scheduling.

+ Responsible for the auditing and accurate processing of charges for all departments within surgical services and possibly interventional services including the auditing of manual charges. Requires the knowledge of multiple computer software programs to dissect all data and integrate the information into reports. Thorough knowledge of the Cerner Charge Services and ERS, Patient Surgical Scheduling and documentation and Lawson inventory system.

+ Responsibilities also include patient scheduling, physician and patient liaison.

+ Perform other duties as assigned.


Minimum Requirements

+ High School or Equivalent

+ Preferred

- Associate degree

+ Required experience is 2 years Scheduling in a Healthcare field or 2 years of related experience.
