This role will have a focus on our Smart Cart and AI-powered retail systems, but will engage with all aspects of Caper's connected solutions.By collaborating closely with our product management, engineering, and data science teams, you will enhance our understanding of complex problems and identify opportunities for innovation. Your work will directly impact the optimization of Caper's solutions, contributing to Instacart’s mission of revolutionizing the grocery shopping experience through cutting-edge technology.About the TeamAs a member of the Data Science and Analytics team, you will provide essential support for strategic and product decision-making. Our team excels in using data-driven insights and developing frameworks to address complex challenges within the marketplace. We serve as a point of connection between teams, facilitating collaboration, idea sharing, and alignment, helping Instacart develop more holistic solutions.About the JobIn this dynamic role, your responsibilities will include:• Becoming an expert on Caper’s systems, gaining a deep understanding of how we design, enhance, and integrate AI-powered solutions into shopping experiences.• Helping to prioritize and define the roadmap for Caper’s innovative product direction.• Creating robust analytical frameworks to refine decision-making across various initiatives.• Assisting in the sizing and scoping of potential challenges and opportunities within our systems.• Translating complex datasets into understandable narratives and actionable recommendations.• Proactively identifying areas for significant impact, growth, and investment in transforming retail technology.About YouMinimum Qualifications• 2+ years of experience utilizing data to inform strategic decisions.• Comfort working in dynamic and sometimes ambiguous environments.• Strong proficiency in SQL.• Proven ability to synthesize data into compelling narratives.• Experience managing and prioritizing work across multiple teamsPreferred Qualifications• A basic understanding of statistics and experimentation methodologies.• Experience with ‘gig economy’ marketplacesInstacart provides highly market-competitive compensation and benefits in each location where our employees work. This role is remote and the base pay range for a successful candidate is dependent on their permanent work location. Please review our Flex First remote work policy here. Currently, we are only hiring in the following provinces: Ontario, Alberta, British Columbia, and Nova Scotia.Offers may vary based on many factors, such as candidate experience and skills required for the role. Additionally, this role is eligible for a new hire equity grant as well as annual refresh grants.
