Project Estimator

Job Title: Project EstimatorJob DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Project Estimator to join our team. This role involves reviewing RFQs to understand their intent, requirements, details, timing, and scope. You will create detailed take-offs for equipment and ancillary devices based on the scope and your knowledge of conveyor systems. This position requires preparing bid packs for subcontractors and ensuring compliance with customer general specifications and standards. Pricing and cost estimation for purchased equipment and fabricated items are crucial responsibilities.Responsibilities+ Review RFQs to understand their intent, requirements, details, timing, and scope.+ Create detailed take-offs for equipment and all ancillary devices based on scope and conveyor knowledge.+ Prepare bid packs for subcontractors.+ Ensure compliance with customer general specifications and standards.+ Get pricing for purchased equipment and fabricated items as necessary.+ Add costs to each line item in the estimate.+ Ensure all items of work are included.+ Review subcontractor proposals for content, price, and clarifications.+ Consider cost savings or value-added alternates.+ Review engineering or feasibility considerations.+ Assist in preparing final quotes and documents for customer submission.+ Establish a plan for timing and completing the Scope of Work.+ Review quotes with the Estimating Manager and Sales.+ Collaborate with engineering and operations to complete the quote.+ Provide critical as-sold information, job kickoff, and setup for the job budget.+ Provide job field order and change order estimates for the job budget.Essential Skills+ Experience in project estimation and RFQ interpretation.+ Ability to read blueprints and knowledge of industrial equipment.+ Experience in project management and construction estimating.+ Experience in fiberglass manufacturing and conveyor systems.Additional Skills & Qualifications+ B.S. preferred in Industrial Management, Construction Management, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.+ 5+ years of experience in an industrial equipment manufacturing environment, preferably in automotive or fiberglass insulation manufacturing.+ Experience in large project estimating, full scope, and bidding.+ Proficiency in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel.+ Knowledge of AutoCAD/Inventor and ability to read blueprints.+ Willingness to travel occasionally, including overnight, for bid meetings and site reviews (less than 10%).Work EnvironmentThe role is primarily based in an office setting, focusing on reviewing RFQs and creating bids. Occasional travel to project sites is required to review project scope. The work involves collaboration with various departments to ensure comprehensive and accurate project estimation.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Kansas City, MO.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $36.00
