Job Title: Mechanical Drafter 1Job DescriptionThe primary role of the Mechanical Drafter is to prepare detailed working diagrams of machinery and mechanical devices, incorporating dimensions, fastening methods, and other engineering information.Responsibilities+ Develop detailed design drawings and specifications for mechanical equipment, dies, tools, and controls using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment.+ Coordinate and consult with other workers to design, layout, or detail components and systems, and to resolve design or other problems.+ Compute mathematical formulas to develop and design detailed specifications for components or machinery using computer-assisted equipment.+ Position instructions and comments onto drawings.+ Design scale or full-size blueprints of specialty items such as furniture and automobile body or chassis components.+ Check dimensions of materials to be used and assign numbers to the material.+ Lay out and draw schematic, orthographic, or angle views to depict functional relationships of components, assemblies, systems, and machines.Essential Skills+ Creativity, verbal and written communication skills, analytical and problem-solving ability.+ Team player and detail-oriented.+ Basic knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.+ Basic knowledge of the practical application of engineering science and technology.+ Basic knowledge of relevant computer applications such as CADD (Computer Aided Design and Drafting).Additional Skills & Qualifications+ High school diploma or GED required.+ 0-2 years of experience in drafting and designing.Work EnvironmentThe work environment involves using computer-assisted drafting (CAD) equipment to create detailed drawings and specifications. The role requires collaboration with other team members to resolve design issues and ensure accurate documentation.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract position based out of Rapid City, SD.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00
